Middle school at Charlottesville Catholic School encompasses grades 6 through 8. Subjects are taught in a departmentalized system with some block scheduling being utilized. Students are provided a diverse curriculum, which uses the Diocese of Richmond’s Consensus Curriculum for overall guidance. (See curriculum page for more details) Learning objectives are guided by the Consensus Curriculum as well as formal and informal assessment provided by each middle school teacher.  Various mathematics levels and high school credit courses provide rigorous opportunities for students. Consistently high standardized test scores indicate this is a successful approach to the Charlottesville Catholic School middle school curriculum development and implementation.

To compliment academic instruction, the subjects of art, music, and physical education are offered. In addition, middle school students are provided the opportunity of electives to enhance their overall middle school experience.

Middle School studies are supported by their advisor and advisory group.  They join their advisory group in the 6th grade and stay with their advisory until 8th grade graduation.  Advisors support students as they become advocates for themselves and others and servant leaders for our community.
